Palestine boycott list

Palestinian activists are calling for boycotts of companies linked to the Israeli state and human rights abuses.

Here we give the official list of brands and products to avoid.

Boycott campaigns are pressuring brands to end their relationships with the Israeli state, and have ramped up pressure since the latest war against Gaza began in 2023.

In this article we provide a list of the main brands being targeted, and provide details on how you can use a new app to stay up-to-date and check which brands are facing a boycott call.

How to know which brands to boycott for Palestine

The list of brands being boycotted provided below comes from the ‘Boycat’ app. It’s the very first app tracking all boycott targets that is backed by the official Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement

The BDS movement is a Palestinian-led coalition that runs campaigns, and is the most authoritative voice around on which brands should be boycotted and why.

Tech For Palestine, an organisation which tries to mobilise the power of technology to support Palestine advocacy, partnered with BDS to create the new Boycat app, which lets you easily search a brand name and see if it faces a BDS boycott campaign.

The brands being targeted are divided in the app into three different levels:

  • Level 1: Official BDS Priority Campaign (which we list below)
  • Level 2: Connected Companies
  • Level 3: Broad Connections

If you search a brand on the app and it isn’t in any one of these levels, then you know the Palestinian-led movement isn’t asking people to boycott that brand.

Palestine and Israel brands to boycott

Below we list the most important boycott targets. Campaigners refer to these as ‘priority targets’, or ‘Level 1’ targets in the app. These companies are often highly complicit in the Israeli state’s violations of Palestinian human rights, may be responsive to consumer pressure, and are well-known and visible targets.

We’ve included a brief sentence explaining the reason why each company has appeared on the Boycat app. Visit the Boycat app itself for more details. In many cases, more details are also available on our main boycotts list page.

If the brands are in sectors we have researched, we’ve also included links to relevant shopping guides where you can find alternative ethical brands. We only research companies that are relevant to a UK audience.

Could your workplace switch to more ethical brands?

Individual consumers can boycott many of these brands, such as Ahava, Coca-Cola and Papa John’s. However, some of the targets only provide services for example to companies and governments, and are therefore unaffected by individual consumer pressure.

While you may not be able to boycott them yourself, if your workplace or local authority uses one of these, you could campaign by asking them to switch.

How is this list different to Ethical Consumer’s boycotts list?

This article provides the full list of worldwide BDS priority targets.

Our general list of boycott campaigns however only focuses on brands that individuals in the UK could boycott, and it provides more in-depth detail about the specific campaigns.

More brands listed on the Boycat app

There are hundreds more brands listed as complicit on the Boycat app that are being targeted but to a slightly lesser extent than the main targets. These are called level 2 targets on the app.

More still are listed as having some, more indirect, connections to abuses (called ‘level 3’ targets on the app). These brands for example might source from firms involved in the occupation, have minor investments or partnerships with firms linked to the occupation, or indirectly support it in some other way.
